Karishma Kasad, MC, LPC is a licensed mental health therapist who provides in-person and telehealth services in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Kari brings diverse clinical and life experiences to her work ranging from medical school to community mental health to work in primary care clinics. In all environments, she prioritizes client values, goals, and interests at all stages of life to support them in achieving their therapeutic goals. This approach helps clients reduce stigma around their challenges with OCD, especially subtypes which can produce intense feelings of shame or guilt such as Relational OCD, Real event OCD, Scrupulosity/Religious OCD, Racism OCD, Mental contamination OCD, Sexual Intrusive Thoughts OCD, and Emetophobia.
Karishma also has a passion for working with diagnoses that co-occur with OCD, including trauma, neurodivergence (ADHD/Autism), and anxiety. As such, she has additional training in evidence based trauma treatments such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and utilizes a multicultural and identity-affirming lens in her care. She is also trained in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), allowing her to pull from a wide range of tools to support her clients’ journeys.
When Kari is not working with clients, she’s spending time with friends, reading, writing, traveling, daydreaming, or tending to one of her many talkative pets.
At CalmOCD we treat individuals ages 5 and up with obsessive-compulsive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety, eating disorders, panic disorder, agoraphobia, phobias, misophonia, body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs), and co-occurring depression.
